How to protect your portfolio from inflation through real estate investments

How to protect your portfolio from inflation through real estate investments 1090 721 Laura

“A bank is a place that will lend you money, if you can prove that you don’t need it.” Inflation is a measure of the increase in prices – or put differently, a measure of your money becoming worth less. So, you may still have the same amount of money on your account, or maybe even more: But the goods and products you can purchase with the money are less, your assets have lost some of the purchasing power. The above example only takes into consideration that you hold all your wealth in cash. That is not the case for most people, but then the question arises: Which asset classes are best to hold during times of (higher) inflation? Before going any further, we need to establish a few basic notions: A physical asset is the best way to preserve wealth.  This is our fundamental thought and generally adopted conviction. After all, a painting will…

Testimony of Mrs. Francine P., shareholder in the Granges-près-Marnand and Dorénaz projects I

Testimony of Mrs. Francine P., shareholder in the Granges-près-Marnand and Dorénaz projects I 1452 960 Laura

Hello, could you briefly introduce yourself? I have been an independent jeweller since 1982, i.e. 40 years. I repair, transform and create jewellery for a wide range of customers. This has allowed me to meet very different but equally interesting people. I love my job because it is varied and I am directly in touch with the client. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see the satisfaction in their eyes after having saved the memory of a missing relative or others. 2- Why did you decide to invest in the Granges-près-Marnand and Dorénaz I projects? I fell in love with the building in Granges-près-Marnand because this old renovated building has soul and gives off something. The other building in Dorénaz is different because it is new but I also like it, anyway what counts for these investments is the return. How did you hear about SIPA Immobilier? I got to know SIPA Immobilier via…

Our property investment project in Ardon is fully financed and 100% rented

Our property investment project in Ardon is fully financed and 100% rented 1452 960 Laura

The launch of our investment opportunity in Ardon was a great success, as all 22 flats in this investment property have been rented, thanks to our trusted partner, Régie Petignat & Amor Immobilier. The property in question is valued at more than 9 million francs and is located in a commune close to all amenities and access to the motorway in less than nine minutes. We are therefore pleased to be part of the real estate landscape that contributes to the dilution of the risk of rental vacancies. When a flat remains unoccupied, the owner can no longer receive rental income, but must also continue to pay the costs. How does participatory investment reduce the risk of vacancy on several fractions of flats? Participatory investment means that an investor becomes a co-owner of a fraction of each flat in the building in which they have invested. The latter therefore receives a percentage of the overall…

Supplementing your capital is perfectly feasible if you take the time to think about it. Indeed, we recommend you to be aware…

Can Switzerland be considered the survivor of global inflation?

Can Switzerland be considered the survivor of global inflation? 1089 721 Laura

The outlook for the Swiss economy is tending to downgrade the macroeconomic forecasts of the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco). Growth forecasts have been revised downwards and theinflation upwards. Thus, for 2022, we observe a growth rate of 2.6% compared to 2.8% announced. Moreover, the year 2023 follows this trend with 1.9% growth against an estimated 2.0%. Nevertheless, the recovery is expected to be less sustained, according to Seco. The War in Ukraine and the impact of the pandemic on growth in China explains the deterioration of this outlook. Inflation is revised upwards to an annual average of 2.5%, compared to the March 2022 forecast of 1.9%. However, price inflation is expected to slow in 2023 to 1.4%, compared to the 0.7% increase posted by Seco in March 2022. We discussed this in our last article: « Why is buying a property in Switzerland becoming more expensive than renting? », the energy and food prices has…
